The ashes of a family member, friend, or yourself if you are planning ahead, can be interred at Eden Valley. There are three ways in which this can be done.
One option is to chose an ashes plot under one of our young oak trees. These trees are roughly 30 years old, which in their lifespan is still very young but they are well established, six meters plus in height and with lovely wide crowns. Ashes plots under the oak trees are set out on a grid system with each plot being a 75cm square that provides ample space for the interment of a single set of ashes. After the ashes have been buried friends and family are more than welcome to plant some native bulbs and flowers on the plot. We can provide you with a list of approved bulbs and plants with which to make the plot look beautiful.
For people who would like a tree planted with their ashes we offer a full burial plot, 1.5 meters in width and 3 meters in length. This much larger plot allows the space in which a tree can be planted and grow into maturity. As well as providing a personal tree this larger burial plot can be used for the interment of up to eight ashes. Several families at Eden Valley have purchased plots so that they can be used as a family burial plot, that over the years and decades will be used for the ashes burial of other members of the family.
The most simple option that we offer is to scatter the ashes. Close to our pond in the wild grasses, we have set aside an area where ashes can be scattered. These ashes will mix with grasses, the wind and the soil becoming part of the natural environment.
